Four arrested for keeping bag

FOUR youths aged between 17 and 24 have been arrested in Palma after they kept a bag they had found in a fast food restaurant in the Plaza España.

The suspects were detained a few hours later when they were found shopping in Palma shopping mall. The owner of the bag had been for lunch in the restaurant around 2 pm, but when she left she forgot to pick up her bag containing €3,600.

The women alerted the police and when they arrived the woman explained what had happened. The police proceeded to question the employees of the restaurant but nobody had handed it in. The police then asked to see the security cameras of the establishment and viewed the four youths leaving the premises with the bag. The police then alerted other units with descriptions of the youths. When detained they had the woman’s purse and had already bought a number of items including a necklace, a ring and several pieces of clothing with the woman’s money, police claim.
