Monday February 25 saw the inaugural flight from Berlin-Tegel to Madrid.
More than 130 flight guests and invited media representatives celebrated with flamenco and Spanish “churros” at the invitation of Airberlin and Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
The new non-stop flight on this route will operate on a daily basis with a Boeing 737-800.
Airberlin is one of Europe’s leading airlines and flies to 150 destinations in 40 countries. The second largest airline in Germany it carried more than 33 million passengers in 2012.
Airberlin also offers a global route network through its partnership with Etihad Airways.
