Cyclist stopped on drugs charge

A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD cyclist has been arrested by Guardia Civil near Garrucha after a search found 8.5 grammes of cocaine.

The man, known by the initials JEFF, was riding a bicycle on the A-370 road when, after spotting a checkpoint by Guardia Civil, he became visibly nervous.  Officers stopped the man, who tried to conceal a shoulder bag behind his back, trying to take advantage of the night’s darkness.  A search of the bag revealed 8.5 grammes of cocaine, several medicines to cut the drug with and small envelopes for the distribution of the drug.
