EU JOB AID

EU funds of €253,000 will be used to promote job opportunities for unemployed people aged 16-24 in Axarquia towns with a population under 20,000.

DOUBLE BILL

THE local regulations on waste collection tax in Torrox will be revised as several cases of duplicate bills were found last year, town hall said.

GARDEN CASH

RESIDENTS will not pay for garden management in 10 areas of Velez and 19 in Torre del Mar as the town hall takes over and increases its investment from €1.2 million to €2 million.  

ON FOOT 

CALLE Del Mar in Velez will be pedestrianised between Avenida de Andalucia and the beach promenade, says the town hall, but no dates for the work have been given.

ENERGY SAVING

TORROX town hall saved €140,000 from its electric bill last year following a set of measures to optimise local energy consumption, Environment Councillor Lauren Salvatierra said.
