Man hurt in bungled theft

 A SUPERMARKET cashier who tried to stop shoplifters was hit over the head with a bottle. The store, in Calle Ramon Gallud in the centre of Torrevieja, was entered by four young men who were trying to steal food. They were spotted by the staff member who went to stop them but was assaulted.  The perpetrators then fled the shop.

Officers are trying to trace the men through video surveillance cameras.
