A PROTEST against plans to drill for fuel off the Costa del Sol was held by local residents in Mijas. Participants dressed symbolically in black.
The group believes that Malaga will be unable to create a sustainable tourism plan if there are gas or oil rigs just a few kilometres from the coast. The group says they will be damaging to the environment and the fishing industry.
Their aim is to force the Spanish Government to cancel permits granted to search for fuel deposits at sea off the Calaburras lighthouse.
Another protest will be held on Wednesday at 7pm at La Cala de Mijas Cultural Centre.
