Use your fingers but no elbows

FInger food

ETIQUETTE experts say it is now acceptable to eat with your fingers in a restaurant.

A ten-point guide to modern dining manners has been released which is designed to help people navigate the potentially messy minefield of ‘finger food.’

Experts say is now ok to use your hands as long as you do not lick your fingers afterwards.

Top tips include cutting food into manageable pieces before picking it up, using a napkin to wipe messy hands and using a fork to pick up any food that spills on to the plate.

Traditional rules such as sitting up straight, keeping elbows off the table, and waiting for food to cool instead of blowing on it, remain.
