THE service sector in the Balearics saw a five per cent drop in revenue in July, compared to the same period in 2011. This is in tune with the general trend seen in Spain (-4.9%), according to the latest figures provided by the National Institute of Satistics (INE).
Employment in the service sector also fell, being the fourth Spanish region to loose more job positions in this field (-3.7%), only surpassed by Extremadura, Castilla y Leon and Castilla-La Mancha.
