VELEZ-MALAGA Mayor Francisco Delgado has once again asked the Junta de Andalucia for help managing and sustaining the local tram lines.
The tram system was draining town hall’s public funds, and the company in charge of the lines was forced to close it down since the regional government refused to pay €2 million to prevent this.
The transport company, Travelsa, filed a Redundancy Dismissal Procedure, for the 23 workers that will be affected by the service suspension.
The mayor pointed out that public transportation can lead the local administration to poverty if the Junta does not help them find a solution for the problem at hand.
