Town uses warehouse without paying rent

FOR the last seven years Orihuela town hall has reportedly been using a warehouse without paying rent to its owner, the San Jose Obrero Foundation.

The property owner reported that he is tired of asking the council to either pay rent or leave the warehouse without receiving any response from the town hall.

According to the owner, the town workers even made renovations to the warehouse “and didn’t ask us permission to do so.”

The San Jose Obrero Foundation clearly indicated that “we have never wanted to evict the council from the estate, but we cannot allow them to pay nothing considering that we have been paying for electricity and water.”
