CHILDREN at the Leon Motta Primary School in Antequera wore helmets to go to class this week.
Their parents organized this in order to protest against the state of the school building, as parts of it have been collapsing and the children are in danger of being hit by falling debris.
This has been going on since last year and so far nothing has been done to repair it despite letters to the Junta de Andalucia Education Delegation and to the local Town Hall.
The Education Department says that the work would cost €30,000 and that the building is safe for the children.
Meanwhile, part of the school has been cordoned off by the town hall.
Parents have said they will refuse to take their children back to school in September if it is not repaired over the summer.
