Bob’s 15,000ft leap of faith

A BRITISH expat leaped out of a plane at 15,000 feet raising €514 for charity in the process.

Former primary school caretaker Bob Raper took part in a sponsored skydivefrom the La Juliana Aerodrome near Sevilla to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s (RBL) Poppy Appeal.

Raper, 63, was born in Scotland but brought up in Leeds, and has lived in Spain with his wife Marlene for three years where he is the Standard Bearer for The Royal British Legion Fuengirola Branch.

Bob says: “It was something I wanted to do when I was in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) but never got around to doing it.”

“It was a fantastic experience and I would do it again, I would recommend it if anyone is thinking of doing. Go for it,” he said.

“I would like to thank all the staff at Skydive Spain for making me welcome and looking after me especially Robert the instructor and Pablo the cameraman.”
