Another vote of no confidence in Benalmadena

THE conservative Partido Popular and Union Centro Benalmadena have officially announced a vote of no confidence against the current socialist mayor, Javier Carnero.

The maximum representatives of the PP in the province, Elias Bendodo and Francisco, justified this by saying it was the “only way out of the lack of governability in the town”.

This is the second time that there has been a vote of no confidence against Carnero.

PP member Paloma Garcia Galvez will be the new mayor and to do so will leave her position as a member of parliament. The head of the UCB, Francisco Salido, will be deputy mayor.

In the municipal elections of May last year, the PP obtained the highest number of votes, however, the council was in the hands of a tripartite team formed by the socialists (PSOE), left-wing Izquierda Unida and UCB. The motion will be voted on at a plenary meeting next Saturday.
