Queen’s Jubilee charity event in Guadamar

AS part of the growing number of Queen’s Jubilee events taking place this weekend, there is another one to consider at El Raso near Guadamar.

The charity event, organised by the Hot Stone Restaurant and Ruby’s is in aid of EMAUS.

EMAUS is a charitable group providing a wide range of help, care and assistance to children, old people, women at risk, the disabled and other disadvantaged and socially excluded groups of people.

The event will run from 12.00 noon to 9.00pm on Saturday 2nd june.

It will be hosted by TKO Radio’s Lee Fox and several locally known DJ’s are making an appearance.

There will be a variety of local musicians and bands performing including; Inside the lines and an 11 piece band.

Among the activities are a live charity auction, face painting, bouncy castle and numerous market stalls.

The Hot Stone Restaurant and Ruby’s will be providing the catering for the event with all pints at only €2.00.

The event will be a celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee with the plaza and other bars decorating their premises with patriotic flags.

One of the main attractions is a new five-piece band called ‘Inside The Lines’.

Inside The Lines is an indie rock group created by two popular, local entertainers on the Costa Blanca to bring a new kind of band into the limelight, with a completely different image than you might be used to.

Don’t be scared because their songs are easily recognizable but their sets contain music not often performed by live entertainers.

Mark Bailey (local Michael Buble tribute) and Michael Moran (former bassist and lead vocalist from Off Ya Head, and The Assigned) came up with the idea after talking over some ideas on how they could make live entertainment different than it has ever been before.

After searching far and wide, the band quickly formed introducing Glenn Williams on guitar and Dominik Finke on drums at the end of February 2012.

In April 2012, Jivz Sagoo (on guitar) became the latest member to join the band.

More information on the Charity event and about the band can be found on their ‘Inside the Lines’ Facebook page.
