Bar boss to pay €6,000 over broken chair

THE owner of a bar in Murcia has been sentenced to pay €6,000 compensation to a client who was injured when a chair broke under his weight.

A court in Totana, Murcia, rejected the claim and exonerated the bar, but the client appealed and the Provincial Court considered the chair legs “should be strong enough to withstand any person’s weight.”
