THIRTY bars and restaurants in Torremolinos have been reported for allowing clients to smoke inside.
The non-profit association Nofumadores.org has reported the establishments which are mostly located in La Carihuela area after a local resident with lung disease did so and failed to receive a response from the Junta de Andalucia.
They also complain that police are doing nothing to enforce the smoking ban. In total, they have reported 100 pubs, bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlours throughout Andalucia and say that along the Costa del Sol, many establishments have gone on as if the new law had never come into effect.
Some have ashtrays indoors and fail to put up signs informing clients that they can’t smoke.
They could face fines of up to €10,000.
