VELEZ-MALAGA Town Hall has fined a disco in Torre del Mar €2,400 for excessive noise.
The town hall has also seized the disco’s sound system, following constant complaints from residents who were unable to rest due to the noise.
The disco also reportedly opened outside the permitted times and people gathered outside from 5am to drink in the streets.
However, residents of the Plazamar complex, where the disco is located, are not yet happy, because they had demanded that the disco’s licence be revoked and that it be closed for between two and five years.
Their lawyer said that they plan to appeal to prevent the disco from opening again.
However, the town hall has said that the owner has requested a licence to improve insulation.
Once noise level checks have been carried out, the town hall will decide whether it can open again.
