A village for sailing enthusiasts within Palma

A PROJECT for the Audi Mapfre King’s Cup Village was presented in Palma.

The President of the Palma Royal Sailing Club (RCNP), Javier Sanz, presented the project which aims to allow the city the chance to enjoy the Mediterranean’s most important regatta up close.

The ‘Village’ he explained, would be located in Sa Feixina Park and would have capacity for 4,000 people every day.

The Audi Mapfre King’s Cup will take place between July 13 and 21 this year, but the ‘Village’ will be much more than just an area to see the regattas, but also a place for leisure, fun, fashion, shopping, dining, and social encounters for thousands of people, from celebrities and sportsmen, to locals who enjoy sailing events and enjoy what the city has to offer.

The RCNP believes it will “recreate the ambiance which the Audi Mapfre King’s Cup has had for the past three decades and which makes Palma the social and sport capital of the Mediterranean.”

It will open from 6pm to 2am, and will also hold musical events starring some of Spain’s most famous artists.
