Bliss La Finca raise money for Samaritans

PROCEEDS from a Christmas raffle held at La Finca, Algorfa were presented Samaritans in Spain recently.

These were presented to Nora Verdon, President of Samaritans in Spain, by Christine owner of Bliss: Health, Hair and Beauty Saloon. €200 was raised by Bliss in support of two charities, Samaritans in Spain and Paul Cunningham Nurses.

Nora was delighted to receive the much needed contribution, and commented it would be used to support Samaritans in Spain on-going Recruitment Campaign.

Samaritans have been in operation in Spain since 2008, providing an emotional support helpline service seven nights per week from 8pm to midnight.

Demand for their service continues to grow in new and different areas (an e-mail service is now also available and a program of Prison Visiting in conjunction with the British Consul is due to commence shortly).

Training is currently underway to support both these activities. Samaritans are therefore actively recruiting to expand their team and wish to hear from interested people in the Torrevieja area.
