Mijas Briton convicted for sexual abuse

A BRITISH resident of Mijas has accepted nine years in prison for the continuous sexual abuse of one of his step-daughters between 2005 and 2010.

The abuse took place approximately once a month when he was alone with the child, from the age of eight, although he did not use violence or intimidation, according to Press reports.

Evidence proved that he had raped her on at least four occasions, as well as touching her inappropriately and getting her to perform sexual acts.

The man, who has been in prison on remand since March last year, has also agreed to pay €75,000 in compensation to the minor.
