POLICE in Barcelona arrested a fugitive wanted for murder, aggravated robbery and illegal weapons possession in the USA.
Andrew Robert L, 41, allegedly held up a jewellery shop in Westport, Conneticut, on December 8, 2011, and shot the owners before leaving with $300,000 (€231,000) worth of diamonds.
The two men were taken to hospital, where one of them died.
The other provided police with a description of the suspect, and an arrest warrant was issued against him on January 10.
It was discovered that he was living with relatives in Barcelona, and the National Police collaborated with the FBI and US Marshalls to capture the fugitive.
