ONE of the managers of the Gama Supermarket in Campoverde, Pilar de la Horadada, was attacked and robbed.
A ‘Spanish man’ approached him and tried to make him hand over cash. “He did not have any weapons, so I was able to fight him off,” said the manager. “He ran off with my wallet, but did not get any money, just documents.”
Police are investigating the crime.
The assault was probably planned in advance, as the manager often took the route to the nearby bank, according to a spokesman for the Local Police.
The manager, who did not want to be named for his own safety, dismissed rumours the attack was carried out by the gang of four robbers responsible for other attacks in the area.
