Expat art exhibitions in and around La Cala de Mijas area

ARTISTS Margit Bjorklund, Elaine Carlton, Lavinia Croft and Sally Huntington have a new exhibition at Jinete which runs until March 21st 2012.

This time they have been joined by Gunn Jonsson Shabetai who is a fashion and textile print designer.

Ten years ago she decided to devote herself full time to her painting and since then she has exhibited in Belgium, England, France, Spain and Sweden.

With the range of styles and media from all five artists, this once again this exhibition should prove to be of great interest.

The exhibition can be seen at Jinete, Carretera La Cala Golf Km 4.5, Mijas Costa. It is open every day except Friday between 13:00-22:00. Further details from 952119170

‘Morocco Inspires’

Art Exhibition at Dibleys Tapas Bar, C./ Marbella 9, La Cala de Mijas (opposite St. Teresa’s church) by Margit Björklund from Sweden and Don Widdall from England. Opening hours: daily 11- 21 from January 10 – February 13 2012.

A joint exhibition based on inspiration and impressions from travels in Morocco is held by Margit Björklund and Don Widdall. Both artists have in their own way captured the mood and styles of the Moroccan people, the landscape and architecture and the light and vivid colours.

Sian Kirby

Welsh Artist Sian Kirby is exhibiting some of her recent work in a solo exhibition at The Sussex Bar in La Cortijera, La Cala de Mijas.

The exhibition runs until 13th March and can be viewed daily from 10.00 – 19.00 daily. Further details 952493409

Black and White

Textile artist Elaine Carlton is showing her work in an exciting new venue: Mijas Playa in La Cala de Mijas.

This body of work has been produced to fit right in with the lovely decor of the venue and is in black and white with just a little sparkle.

The exhibition runs until March 22 and can be viewed daily from 13.00 – 15.00 and then 19.00 until 22.00. Further information on 952943749.
