PRELIMINARY tests carried out by Telefonica in Spain to transmit data at 400 Gbps have been successful, the company reports.
The tests were carried out between Granada and Jaen, with an intermediate optic amplifier, and proved that the fibre-optic network the operator is installing in Spain will be able to carry very high speed traffic and may be commercialized by 2013.
