THE 145 market stall holders affected by the flooding of at La Cala de Finestrat on October 21 are set to get financial aid.
Each will received between €200 and €800 and/or not pay rates at the new market for a predetermined time period depending on the extent of the damages claimed and the size of their stall, the Town Hall said on Tuesday.
A total of €70,550 has been set aside for this purpose.
“The 40 most affected have been given the materials necessary to rebuild their sales points, while the rest will be paid in the coming days,” said Mayor Honorato Algado.
The location of the new market will most likely be on Avenida Marina Baixa, specifically on the crossroads of Calle Altea and Calle Relleu until the exit of Calle Pajares.
“We are waiting for permission although we have asked that it be given as soon as possible so that those affected can resume business,” said the mayor.
