THE Spanish Government plans to make the October 12 National Fiesta more than just the military parade which is currently held in Madrid.
The military parade will continue, despite having been used as an occasion to criticize the Prime Minister in recent years, but both Congress and the Senate have proposed holding Open Days, as well as there being other activities to be enjoyed by everybody.
The main state museums in Madrid, the Prado, and Reina Sofía, and possibly some private museums will open for free. The Palacio Real, Casa de America, Cervantes Institute, National Library and Cibeles Palace will also open to the public.
