Dominicans arrested for ‘attempted murder’ of drug dealer

THREE Dominicans were arrested in Barcelona and Vigo for allegedly trying to stab a suspected drug dealer in Palma in May.

One of them lived in Mallorca and the other two supposedly came from Barcelona especially to kill the dealer. Two of the alleged attackers were arrested that same day in Barcelona and the third was arrested this week in Vigo where he had been hiding under a false identity.

The 37-year-old victim was attacked in front of his wife and baby outside the doors of an internet cafe in Calle Aragon. He received four stab wounds that nearly cost him his life and had to undergo surgery at Son Espases Hospital. Officers handling the case discovered that he was under investigation as the suspected leader of a group of drug traffickers bringing and distributing cocaine on the island.

After he recovered he returned to his home country, Cuba, were he was imprisoned for running over and killing a woman while drunk a few weeks ago. His partner was arrested in Palma a few weeks ago in an anti-drug operation.
