Film Festival boss is sacked over accounts

THE Executive Director of Malaga Film Festival, Franjo Parejo, has been dismissed by the festival director, Carmelo Romero.

This comes after an audit into the general accounts for the festival for 2010, which revealed that Parejo, who was in charge of the financial management, allegedly committed several ‘irregularities’.

The Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, said that Romero had his full support in making any changes he saw necessary to make the festival work well and to budget.
