I HAVE successfully managed to avoid watching Spanish telly (football matches excepted) for the last five years but this sadly changed recently as I attempted to watch a film on one of the film channels. I cannot imagine how anyone could sit through an advert break and remember even the name of the film let alone the plot line.
Maybe they are just film breaks and the adverts take star billing. In my duty to inform readers I steadfastly counted 39 yes 39 bloomin adverts just in one break!
The first was an advert for a film followed by Citroën, then another film trailer, Sony Erikson, Toyota, Kia, ONCE, Hispania a TV show, Cruzcampo, Afghanistan a TV show, General Optica, El Pais, Banco Popular, Orange, Orby, Tefal, El Pais ( again), Agencia Tributeria, Neutrogena, Activel, Calve, Brise, Anne Moller, Trident, The Phone House, VW Polo, ABC, Pattex, Honda Civic, Iberdrola, Amstel, Fast and Furious 5, Le Petit Marsellaise, Principe Biscuits, General Optica ( again as by now eyes must be failing across Spain), and finally yet another TV show advert.
I hope another five years have gone by until I watch Spanish telly again!
