SIX people are on trial at Almeria Provincial Court accused of belonging to an international prostitution ring. For three years, they allegedly forced Russian women into prostitution at brothels in Granada, Cordoba, El Ejido and Tenerife, where they worked long hours in poor conditions.
In total, they are facing 49 years in prison.
The women were found in Russia, promised work and brought to Spain via Madrid. Once at the brothels they were told they had to pay off the amounts paid to bring them here.
The leaders of the organization sent much of the money to Russia.
