THE Mallorca Hotel Business Federation (FEHM) has requested a meeting with union leaders and AENA to resolve any conflicts ahead of proposed strike action to protest against its privatisation. Those linked to the tourist industry have expressed alarm at the potential economic losses caused by mass cancellations during Holy Week and request that those involved act “responsibly.”
“We would not be able to withstand a similar experience during another major holiday period,” was the comment from FEHM.
“However legitimate their claims might be does not justify the economic damage they will be doing to the island, especially when the economy is so unstable.”
The strikes are planned for April 20, 21, 24, 25 and 30; May 2, 14, 15, 19 and 20; June 13, 23 and 30; July 1, 2, 3, 4, 15 and 31; and August 1, 15 and 31.
