SPAIN thrashed Argentina 6-1 in an international friendly at Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium last night (Tuesday).

The home country's Lionel Messi was unavailable through injury but Diego Costa made his first international start in seven matches.

Isco, with goals on 27, 52 and 75 minutes, scored his first international hat-trick.

Costa opened the scoring for Spain on 12 minutes with Isco slotting in a second just 15-minutes later.

Argentina pulled one back in the 39th minute beating Spain's keeper De Gea.

In the interval, Spain’s fourth goal was thumped into the net by Isco.

And the fifth came directly from a clearance by Spain’s keeper De Gea that was picked up by  Aspas and slotted past the Argentinian keeper.

Isco grabbed his third goal of the night, and Spain’s sixth on 75 minutes as Spain recorded their biggest win against a world champion side ever.
