Teen dies after hitting tree at karting track in southern Spain

A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy has died after his motocross bike left a karting track and smashed into a tree in southern Spain this afternoon.

The accident happened at Karting de Cartaya in the province of Huelva in Andalucia according to the 112 Andalucia emergency control centre.

An air ambulance landed at the track but the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fatal accident is being investigated by the authorities.
