RESVERATROL, found in grapes, and pterostilbene, found in cranberries, stimulate human’s inborn immune system.

According to a study by the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University (USA) published in Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, the compounds, known as stilbenes, work with vitamin D and have a significant impact on the innate immune system and the body’s capacity to fight bacterial infections. This is important, because many antibiotics no longer have any effect.

Further research is needed to discover how nutrition affects the immune system and take steps towards developing natural compounds which can help to increase the response of the immune system.
