MAJOR mobile phone company Vodafone has advised unions that it wishes to make 1,297 workers redundant as part of its plans to rationalise the operation and reduce costs.

Despite the change in the Netflix programme structure in the US, Vodafone has announced it will become the first Spanish operator to offer the Netflix platform via internet in October.

Having complained about the position that competitor Telefónica enjoys with its access to television, Vodafone has teamed up with Orange to share the cost of obtaining pay to watch football.
