FINE DINING is a treat we should all indulge in once in a while and there is no better place to visit than Fig & Olive Restaurante in Urbanisation Horizonte, Playa Flamenca.
Opened just a month, it is already making waves in the industry for it's sophisticated style, friendly service and quality, fresh food. Owned and run by Sean Yates, the chef trained at Hertford Regional College and went on to work in the south of England before spending two years in Australia. He returned to the UK and opened a restaurant with a friend before moving to Spain four years ago and becoming chef at the popular Christopher's. After three happy years there he felt it was the right time to open his own restaurant.
He has developed his menu inspired by his travels around India and time spent cooking in Australia. There is a diverse and tasty treat in store no matter what you pick and you will be spoilt for choice. Starters include salt and pepper prawns, Norwegian smoked salmon and a mezze dish, perfect for sharing, with red pepper hummus, aubergine purée, beetroot and goats cheese dip with flatbreads. Mains include their signature dish; fig and olive lamb which is slow braised and also Kerala king prawn curry, rump steak, sea bream and steak and portabello mushroom pie. A range of tempting desserts are available changing daily. The Fig & Olive also prides itself on it's changing menu which will be adapting with the seasonal produce available.
Fine dining is often synonymous with 'expensive' but at Fig & Olive starters cost from €4.50-€7.50 and all main means are under €20 so you can truly indulge in an extravagant meal, without breaking the bank.
Sean is the expert in the kitchen while his partner Claire Saunders, who has five years of experience working on yachts, works the front of house guaranteeing customers will always receive a warm welcome and can dine in a great atmosphere.
The restaurant is situated in the Horizonte Commercial Centre overlooking the park with indoor seating and terrace seating for al fresco dining available.
