In 2013 Chris and Lenka opened the doors of their restaurant Los Conteros in Villaricos. Since then there have been many changes in order to cater for the popularity that they have created within their thriving business.
Now boasting a beautiful new refit to the terrace and a refurbishment indoors, Chris and Lenka are ready for the busy summer months ahead. The shade of the terrace is as welcoming as the ice cold Amstel beers on draught, and the attractively priced menu makes it easy on anybody’s pocket to eat out regularly.
The restaurant and terrace have an authentic Spanish feel throughout and inside is fully air conditioned for comfortable dining. There is a menu del dia at only €11.50, a select menu at €16.00 and specials of the house include their signature dish of slow roasted shoulder of lamb.
Two people can enjoy the lamb for only €25.00. Fridays are traditionally fish dish days and Los Conteros really know how to push the boat out every week by serving up a delicious array of fish dishes including cod or plaice fillet cooked in homemade beer batter.
On Sunday Chris strongly advises diners to book for Sunday lunch due to demand for their multi meat choice of roast beef, lamb or pork priced at €13.00.
Other specials include Argentinian fillet steak and whole fresh sea bass, there is a good range of home-made desserts and plenty for the children to choose from.
The team work well to provide a quick and efficient service as Mandy has just joined Ina, Sebita and Caroline to help keep the regulars happy and well fed and watered.
At the time of going to press Los Conteros has just been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the fifth year running, one of only a few to achieve the honour every year since its inception.
The bar is open from 10.00am for coffee and bacon rolls and menu food is served from 12.30pm to 4pm and then from 7pm onwards. Sundays open 10am to 4pm and closed on Mondays.
