The Rat Pack Bar does it their way

The Rat Pack Bar does it their way The Rat Pack Bar

LOVERS of Motown sounds and the Rat Pack music have a favorite hangout  in Playa de Palma. - The Rat Pack Bar

After a little bit of discussion, Steve and Debbie Hancock from Sheffield decided to name their bar in Spain after the kind of music they liked. Ten years later, they haven’t looked back.

With website reviews raving about the place and the friendly welcome, it is no surprise that the Rat Pack Bar is the perfect place to start the evening or go after dinner for a lot of locals and tourists in the area.

The bar is open every day to provide a relaxed atmosphere and drinks to a diverse clientele with one thing in common: the music. Steve Hancock, owner said: “With Magaluf and other bigger tourists hotspots just round the corner, our bar is a great alternative where clients can chill and listen to a different kind of music. We have clients of all ages coming in for drinks and a good ambience.”

With Debbie Hancock being an interior designer prior to their Spanish venture, it was not difficult to give the bar that special, retro decor with lots of 1950s records and classic black-and-white photographs on the walls.

At the Rat Pack Bar, clients will always be able to enjoy that classy music of the 1950s, and sometimes they may even find that there is a music quiz or general knowledge quiz. “We don’t really plan or market any entertainment, but if the crowd is right, we will go ahead with a quiz,”  said Steve.

The selection of ales, beers, Spanish wines, cider, cocktails and much more make their clients come back time and time again, and their two terraces can be enjoyed through the seasons, weather permitting.

The Rat Pack Bar is open Monday to Friday from 5 pm until late and weekends from 1 pm until late.
