Healthy eating at Slainte, Puerto Banus

By Friday, 08 August 2014 18:09 0

This month, Slainte introduced its new healthy menu. Whilst you might not expect an Irish Bar to boast one of the finest healthy menus on the coast, Slainte isn’t your average Irish Bar.

Since opening its doors late last year, Slainte has attracted not only locals looking for hearty pub cuisine, but also those on a healthier diet thanks to their wholesome boxer specials. “It started off with us just offering healthy meals for the boxers as so many from MGM gym came up looking for a nutritious meal after training. Then the word started to get out that we were offering these completely healthy choices and people started to come just for them,” explained owner, Charley Caradas.

As they continued to increase in popularity, Charley decided it was time for a change and introduced the new Healthy v. Hearty menu.

Whilst all the favourites are still standing strong; including Chicken Tenders, Rack of Ribs and Fish and Chips, the healthy side presents a vast range of choices all complete with the calories content. Be tempted by Lentil Salad with Feta Cheese, Edamame Beans with Chilli and Garlic or Rock Salt and Thai Beef Salad. There are also speciality Vegan dishes including Marinated Tofu with Agave Syrup, Soya Sauce, Red Onions, Garlic, Mixed Peppers and Fresh Herbs served with Sweet Potato Mash and Rocket Salad.

Slainte also boasts a large range of fresh juices and smoothies and they even offer a juice detox for those who want to take healthy to the next level.

So whether you’re dieting hard or celebrating with a cheat day, make Slainte your top choice.
