LA LIGA returns after the international break, with Barcelona looking to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Barcelona, who secured a 3-0 victory over Las Palmas behind closed doors in their last game, will look to continue their perfect start to the season as they travel to unbeaten Atletico Madrid.

Atletico welcomed Diego Costa back to training after his move from Chelsea recently and although the Spaniard cannot play for the club until January, his influence on the training ground may just be enough to push Atletico past Barcelona.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid will look to close the gap on the league leaders as they travel to Getafe. The current champions currently sit in fifth position but could move up to as high as second if other results go their way.

Second placed Sevilla, who have only conceded three goals this season, face a tough task as they travel to Athletic Bilbao; while third placed Valencia face fifth placed Real Betis, who featured in a dramatic 4-4 draw with Real Sociedad before the break.

In the Friday night fixture, Espanyol face Levante with both teams looking to bounce back from 2-0 defeats to Real Madrid and Alaves respectfully.

In the other fixtures, Alaves host Real Sociedad, Villareal travel to Girona, Malaga face Leganes and Las Palmas take on Celta Vigo on Monday.
