Halloween Ebola suits - fancy dress or fancy freak?

Has the world gone mad or is it a way of making light of current situations? Well the answer appears to be the later as Ebola suits have now gone on sale, ready for the festivities of Halloween.

The all-in-one suit comes with respirators, gas masks, rubber gloves, in a choice of white or yellow with one retailer promising the "most viral" costume of the year.

Complaints have already come flooding in, especially as the epidemic is not under control and reports have come in that another health worker outside of Africa has been tested positive.

"Normally I think that irony and humor is funny, but this thing with the costumes, is it really that funny? I mean, Ebola’s not even under control yet," Philadelphia physician's assistant Maria McKenna said.

The suits, which retail around 60 Euros, are set to be the biggest selling fancy dress costumes for this year, particularly as many of the hazmat suits were popular last year, with the success of the TV series Breaking Bad.

With the World Health Organisation warning there could be up to 10,000 new cases within the next two months, it is possible there will be a European ban on selling the fancy dress attire. Last year online retailers stopped the sale of a ‘zombie costume of disgraced broadcaster Jimmy Saville’, and outfits of Osama Bin Laden and Mental Patients with knives.
