ANTI-TOURIST protesters took to a Barcelona beach to demonstrate against what they claim to be a spike in ‘drunken tourism’.

The Barceloneta neighbourhood has also seen an increase in holiday rentals which according to protesters is forcing residents to find homes elsewhere.

Around 100 people took to the beach with banners saying “My building is not your building” in French and “we don’t want tourists in our buildings”, in English, were placed along the beach.

Anti-tourism groups have been protesting in several regions of Spain against the ‘unsustainable’ growth in tourism Spain has been seeing over the past few years.
