SPAIN’S National Police force is investigatng a human skeleton found buried on a beach in Alicante on the Costa Blanca.

A man walking his dog in the  El Saladar area discovered the remains just 300 metres from where he also found human remains in January.

According to police sources the two findings appear not to be connected.

Forestic tests are now being performed to determine the identity and cause of death.

National Police officers discovered the corpse buried in a rocky area, about 30 metres from the shore.

Firemen were called to help excavate the human remains.

An almost complete skeleton, standing just 1.5 metres tall has been recovered, although it is an  advanced state deterioration.

The remains found in January were more than 100-years-old and there were no traces  of DNA remaining.
