A 34-YEAR-OLD British man has been arrested in Alicante following a pub fight which has left a Spanish man in critical condition.

The Guardia Civil has announced that the victim is in an induced coma following a major life-saving operation.

“It appears that the incident occurred following a heating discussion in a pub, which resulted in the British man punching the other man, who then hit his head against the floor and suffered serious injuries,” they added.

Police services located and arrested the accused in just under 72 hours. He is now being detained in the Formentera de Segura village until his court hearing.
