A DRUNK driver with no licence has been arrested in Alicante for allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run.

The 41-year-old woman is believed to have hit a cyclist with her car and then fled the scene. Guardia Civil officers found her several hours later, still drunk.

It has also been reported that the Finnish national was involved in another minor accident on the same night where she again fled the scene.

The 30-year-old cyclist was taken to intensive care at Orihuela Hospital in serious condition although he may need to be transferred to a specialist treatment centre.

The driver’s car was found on an orange farm in Guardamar del Segura.

She faces charges for driving under the influence and without a licence as well as failing to stop after an accident.
