More than 28,100 people have been infected with Covid over the past 15 days in Malaga.


Since December 31, a total of 28,122 people in Malaga have been infected with Covid and hospital pressure is increasing.
In the last hours, 1,916 new cases have been reported.
This makes Malaga the province with the highest number of positives of after the 2,200 registered in Seville a day ago.
The total number of infected in Malaga since the pandemic began until today, January 15, is now 215,462, which means that almost 13 per cent of the population of the province has tested positive through a PCR or antigen test since the Covid outbreak began.
Only two municipalities of the 103 in the province are free of cases diagnosed in the last 14 days.
According to data from the Ministry of Health and Families, a total of 2,100 people have lost their lives in Malaga due to the virus since March 2020.
In the first two weeks of January 2022, 39 Covid patients have died and in the last 24 hours there have been four deaths.
The situation in hospitals is also worsening. Although far from the scenario of the end of January and February 2021, Today, January 15, there are 410 beds occupied in the province’s health centres by patients confirmed with Covid.
In the last few hours, 61 patients have required hospital care in Malaga.
