Quirónsalud Marbella hospital promotes its healthcare excellence project with the implementation of 11 new multidisciplinary units

The Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital’s healthcare excellence project has been boosted and accelerated since the start of this year.  The medical centre has just announced the activation of 11 new multidisciplinary units which add value to the close cooperation work between the various units and the articulation of a working method where interaction amongst the various healthcare professionals is continuous.

The main reason for the creation of these new units is to provide an excellent quality healthcare service to patients by making all the hospital’s technological and professional resources available to them.  In the first place, there is a consultation with a specialist that serves as a departure point for the entire roadmap to be drafted by these multidisciplinary units which, subject to the specific diagnosis, will schedule a sequence of visits in order to follow up the patient’s case, thus guaranteeing the full medical evaluation and follow up of the patient by the various healthcare professionals.

The Units of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cardiology, ENT, Pneumology, Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy, Rheumatology, Midwives, Nutrition and Psychology are part of the eleven new multidisciplinary units that have just been activated.    However, these units will not be the only ones; further progress will be made as the patient medical service based on the hospital’s cross-sectional teams evolves.

The new units are:

  1. Pregnancy, Labour and Postpartum Comprehensive Unit
  2. Knee Pathologies Comprehensive Unit
  3. Hip Pathologies Comprehensive Unit
  4. Upper Limbs Pathologies Comprehensive Unit
  5. Fibromyalgia Patients Healthcare Unit
  6. Sports Injuries Unit
  7. Spine Pathologies Comprehensive Unit
  8. Regenerative Therapies Unit
  9. Children Orthopaedics Unit
  10. Sleep Respiratory Disorders Unit (Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome)
  11. Cardiac and Respiratory Rehabilitation Unit

With these new healthcare programmes (some of them unique and pioneering in the province) Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital positions itself as a reference in the Malaga province in the implementation of multidisciplinary working methods and coordination of healthcare professionals from various specialities who work together to obtain a joint diagnosis.
