The Top 10 dream cars on Instagram

Move over, Lamborghini, out of the way, Porsche! When it comes to dream cars, the model most bragged about on social media is the Dodge Challenger. This is according to researchers at car rental comparator stressfreecarrental.com.
Using the hashtag #DreamCar on Instagram, they crunched the numbers to see which makes and models of cars are most tagged. They found that the American muscle car takes the top spot as the most bragged about vehicle on the social platform. It was ahead of European manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Porsche, and Mercedes.
Here are the Top 10 dream cars on Instagram (% of posts tagged with #DreamCar)

2) Lamborghini Aventador (21 %)

3) Mercedes Clase G (18 %)

4) Porsche GT3-RS (12 %)

5) Mercedes CLA AMG (10 %)

6) Bugatti Chiron (6 %)

7) Audi R8 (5 %)

8) Ford Mustang (4 %)

9 =) Volkswagen Golf R (2 %)

The Dodge Challenger was tagged by more than a fifth of Instagram users, 22 per cent, who uploaded posts featuring their dream car. The American favourite is the first choice of a host of stars including singer Billie Eilish, legendary actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and rapper Snoop Dogg.
It narrowly beats the Lamborghini Aventador, which ranks second with 21 per cent, with the German-built Mercedes Benz G-Class SUV in third with 18 per cent of posts.
Although an American car takes the cake as the most labelled dream car, it is one of only two US-made engines to feature in the top ten. It is clear that Europe makes more desirable cars than any other continent, with seven of the top ten coming from European countries. While Japan has long enjoyed fairly good car sales worldwide, only one Japanese car is in the top ten.
A representative from stressfreecarrental.com said, “Every car lover has a long list of cars they wish they had in their garage and many will look to social media for inspiration. So we thought it would be fun to find out which dream cars are the most shared on Instagram. To be fair, we were surprised by the results”.
They continued, “Instead of a long list of supercars, we found that many of the cars that people tag as their dream car are quite affordable. It was interesting to see the Dodge Challenger tagged in so many publications. With a huge fan base in the US, it is certainly the motor of the moment”.
