Valencia woman detained after boyfriend falls five floors

A man was seriously injured early today, Tuesday, November 2, when he fell from the fifth floor of a building on Calle Lladro and Malli in Valencia. The victim was transferred in an ambulance, still alive, to Hospital La Fe.

A source from112 emergency services reported a neighbour calling them at around 01:30am. The caller described hearing a noise outside, then looking out of the window and seeing a man lying on the pavement.

Emergency services were immediately deployed to the location, including a patrol from the Coexistence and Security Unit (UCOS) of the Valencia Local Police force. Several National Police patrols were also mobilised, along with a SAMU ambulance and medics.

Upon arrival, officers found the man lying in a supine position in the street, unconscious, and with his one leg bent. They subsequently discovered that the man had fallen from the fifth floor of the building. The officers went upstairs and spoke with two women who claimed to have witnessed the event.

One of these females was then arrested, while the other was left in the apartment to look after a young child. Neighbours told the police they had heard a loud argument going on just before the incident occurred.

After being stabilised by medics from the Urgent Medical Aid Service (SAMU), the man was admitted to La Fe Hospital, reportedly in very serious condition.

According to police sources, the 33-year-old detainee is allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with the victim. Investigators are now trying to establish the degree of involvement of this person in the incident. Because she witnessed the event, but did not call 112 or 091, the police have accused her of a crime of omission of the duty to help, as reported by lasprovincias.es.
