Squid Game Halloween costume banned in some schools. Halloween is nearly here and one entire school district in New York has banned the costumes. According to reports schools in Ireland and Spain have started to ban the costumes too.

The Netflix TV show Squid Game has become a phenomenon. Many people are hoping to dress up for Halloween as characters from the show. One New York school district has banned the costumes. The costumes have been spotted on sale in many stores including in Spain.

Many schools have already written to parents to warn them about young students recreating games from the show.

It is feared that children wearing the costumes would be more likely to recreate some of the violent scenes from the show.

A spokesperson for the Fayetteville-Manlius district in New York said: “[The Squid Game outfits] do not meet our school costume guidelines due to the potential violent message aligned with the costume.”

Dr Joseph Ricca commented: “One of the things we’ve been hearing about in school districts all across the country, is children coming to school and playing Squid Games on the playground,”

“It’s never appropriate to play at harming one another and that really is the guiding principle here.”
